Happy New Year 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! As 2013 comes to a close and we welcome the peace of the new year, it’s a time of reflection.  We sit down and think about all the things we would have changed about last year and how this year will be our best yet.  However today, I’d like to challenge you to do something different.

Instead of writing a list of resolutions with your normal goals of eat less, workout more–today I want you to focus on ONE word or phrase that will guide you through 2014.  See to me it’s much easier to focus on one thing.  Lists can be overwhelming.  It’s almost like you can get stuck figuring out which task to do first.  So this year, we’re going to eliminate all the confusion and just pick ONE word or phrase.

Now you can’t just pick any word or phrase.  Remember this is going be your guiding principle for the next 364 days.  So let me make it easy for you.  Take out a piece of paper and grab a pen.  At the top of the page I want you to write the first word that pops in your head.  No really…the first word.  Then under that define it in your own words.  For example, let’s say my word is love.  It’d write love at the top of my page and then underneath I’d write, small things that have a huge impact.  Because for me, that’s what love is.  Now it’s your turn.

I want you to keep writing out phrases that define your word until you fill up the entire page.  Feel free to use more pages if you feel inspired.  When you feel you written out your soul’s message, STOP and re-read what you wrote.  What sticks out to you?  Highlight it and that’s your new phrase (or word) for 2014.  Don’t over think it.  Usually our first response it right on the money.

Now what does any of this have to do with sleep?  Nothing.  God just placed a word on my heart today to share with you. He doesn’t want you to enter 2014 with all the drama and crap from last year.  He wants more for you and so do I.  I hope this helped someone start the new year on the right foot.

May God bless you BIG in 2014!  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve your family and I know 2014 is going be a great year for all of us.

Sweet Dreams,

Tamiko
