Help Your Baby Adjust To The End of Daylight Savings Time : Part 2

Help Your Baby To The End of Daylight Savings Time by Tamiko Kelly, Child Sleep Expert

This is my favorite time of year. Not because of the upcoming holidays (I mean yes, those are great too) but I get an extra hour of sleep.

An an extra hour to snuggle in bed and wrap myself tightly in my favorite comforter. Daylight Savings Time rocks!

But when you’ve got a baby who doesn’t sleep, this time of year is FRIGHTENING!  Like MJ’s transformation in the Thriller video. Yep, down right scary.

You dread your little one waking at the butt crack of dawn when we Fall Back.

How can you get your baby to sleep in so you can enjoy that extra hour of rest and not turn into a MOM-bie?

Well that’s we’re discussing in today’s video.  You’ll learn my simple method for getting your little one to sleep in when we change our clocks tomorrow so you can too.

Here’s your quick recap:

  • Daylight Savings Time Ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014
  • Slowly adjust your baby’s schedule for 7 days to get her on our new time.  Here’s an chart for all my visual learners:

{Bonus Tip} Reschedule Your Schedule

Make you sure you move all of your family’s activities to coincide with our extra hour.  Don’t be surprised if your little one needs an earlier nap as they adjust to the change.  This is completely normal.

This one tip was so powerful, my friends over at KXAN featured it on a recent episode of Studio 512. For those you of not in the Austin area this means I’ve officially made my television debut 🙂

After you watch, in the comments I’d love to hear from you.

Do you observe daylight savings time?

Got some awesome tricks up your sleeve to help your lil’ ghoul sleep in?

Tell me all about it below.

Sweet dreams,
